The end of an era for GMWed Jul 28th, 2010
It's the last day of operations at Windsor's GM transmission plant. Once upon a time GM employed more than seven-thousand workers in Windsor. Today, the automaker will close its final plant in the city. The last transmission will come off the line this afternoon, and the remaining 500 employees will be out of work. The plant closure also marks the end of the line for CAW Local 1973. GM first began operations in Windsor in 1919. The company still has Canadian facilities in Oshawa, Ingersoll and St. Catharines
Congratulations Adelle
