The Ambassador Bridge has gotten approval from the Canadian Border Services Agency for a new customs plaza on the Windsor side of the bridge. A consulting firm has determined the bridge company owns enough land to satisfy the needs of customs agents who would work at the "replacement" crossing for the Ambassador Bridge. Transport Canada had told bridge officials back in 2008 that the bridge needed C-B-S-A approval before they would review the environmental assessment documents. Those still need approval before the bridge would be cleared to build their second span.
