A projected deficit at the end of the first quarter at Windsor City Hall is bigger, $1.1 million dollars bigger. At the end of the second quarter the city is running with a $4.7 million dollar shortfall. That's with the $1.5 million dollar budget stabilization fund taken into account. Tony Ardovini in the finance department says huge cost overruns at the Windsor Police Department account for some of it. The city also has about $4-million dollars in tax appeals pending. The city will ask Windsor Police to provide it's plans to mitigate it's shortfall including details on how much overtime officers are spending in court.
